Trust & Safety

GreensShare is built to help neighbors connect and share garden, homestead, and homegrown goods within their local communities. Because exchanges happen directly between individuals, maintaining a safe and trustworthy environment depends on everyone participating responsibly.

Communicate Clearly
Use clear descriptions and honest photos when listing items. Buyers should ask questions before purchasing if they need more information about the item, growing practices, or condition.

Food & Home-Produced Goods
If you sell homemade or homegrown foods, you are responsible for following all applicable local and state regulations, including any cottage food or labeling requirements. Be transparent about ingredients, growing practices, or processing methods when relevant.

Buyers should use their best judgement when purchasing and consuming home-produced foods and are responsible for evaluating the information provided by the seller and deciding whether they are comfortable with the product before purchasing or consuming it.

Payments
GreensShare does not process payments at this time. GreensShare may allow sellers to optionally connect third-party payment processors, such as Stripe, to accept card payments from buyers. When this option is used, payment processing is handled directly by the third-party provider, not GreensShare. Buyers and sellers may also arrange payment methods directly. Only use payment methods you feel comfortable with, and be cautious of unusual payment requests. GreensShare does not control, guarantee, or mediate payments made between users.

Respect Your Community
Treat other users with respect. Harassment, discrimination, scams, or misleading listings are not tolerated and may result in removal from the platform.

Meet Safely
When arranging local pickup, choose a public and well-lit location whenever possible. Consider bringing another person if you feel more comfortable. Always trust your instincts—if something feels off, it’s okay to cancel a transaction.

Report Concerns
If you encounter a suspicious listing, unsafe behavior, or a potential scam, please report it. Community reporting helps keep GreensShare safe and useful for everyone.

GreensShare is designed to strengthen local food systems and community connections. By participating, users agree to act honestly, respectfully, and responsibly when buying or selling.
